WRX modifications
for the street

We see them everywhere – and usually hear them first. (That always brings a smile. “Do you hear that?!”) They are Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI models that have been modified by their owners. The degree of those modifications is limited by personal taste and financial resources.

We’ve seen some nifty rides over the last few years – from both coasts and places in between. Some are shown here.

Drive Performance had its shot at a WRX, which we covered in the past few issues. We thought that now would be a good time to expand our horizons and get some input from guys who work on these cars every day – Subaru Motorsports technicians. We asked the two techs featured in the article on page 10 how they would like to build a 2012 WRX for the street.

Shaun Jacobs is the lead technician for the #75 Subaru Rally Team USA WRX STI 5-Door, and Kurt Rezzetano works on the #35 Subaru Road Racing Team WRX STI Sedan. Both have their own personal Subaru vehicles now, but we thought it would be fun to see what they’d do with a new car.
