EXCITEMENT GENERATED BY THE THIRD YEAR OF X GAMES RALLY WAS MORE INTENSE THAN DURING EITHER OF THE TWO PRIOR EVENTS. THE TARMAC COURSES AROUND THE HOME DEPOT CENTER WERE REVISED, AND THE RALLY’S DEPTH OF FIELD SEEMED STRONGER THAN EVER.

- British driver/co-driver and 2004 Production Car World Rally Championship winner McShea/Clarke earned their way into the X Games field by a victory at the New England Forest Rally three weeks before.
- Carolyn Bosley replaced Jim DeChamp as Travis Pastrana’s co-driver after DeChamp broke a vertebra during Moto X Best Trick competition Thursday.
- Dave Mirra comes to rally from BMX competition, where he has been a pioneer. He’s the winningest X Games competitor ever.
